Welcome to the Brisbane Grammar School Swimming Program.

Our Program has a fantastic facility based at one of Australia’s leading schools, Brisbane Grammar. The indoor, ten lane, FINA standard swimming pool provides a year round training base for the swimming program. Our program also has unlimited access to two 50m pools within 2km of the school.

Brisbane Grammar School has long been associated with swimming success, beginning with BGS Old Boy Frank Gailey, winning 4 gold medals at the 1904 St. Louis Olympics.

More recently, the BGS program has placed a swimmer on every Australian Team since 2015. BGS’s Director of Swimming, Mr David Lush, was recently named Australian Coach of the Year, with BGS athletes achieving Gold Medal Performances at the meets below;

2015 World Swimming Championships
2015 World Junior Swimming Championships
2016 Rio Olympic Games
2017 World Championships
2018 Commonwealth Games

The swimming program continues to focus on preparing boys and girls to compete at the GPS and QGSSSA Swimming Championships, the QLD State and Australian Age Championships, as well as Local, District and School Competitions.

However we welcome athletes from any aquatic discipline, to join the variety of BGS Australian Team athletes from Water-polo, Triathlon, Surf Lifesaving, Royal Lifesaving and Open Water Swimming

Please peruse our website for all relevant information about the Swimming Program, however if you have any further questions, please submit a request through “Contact Us”
